Our Wildlife Volunteer Programs offer the chances to experience living in the bush, studying the wildlife, and working to develop our understanding of the relationship between the wildlife and the human populations.

What to expect

Your Volunteer tour starts by picking you at Nairobi Airport upon arrival then have a transfer to Nairobi Hotel.

The following morning have orientation visiting Giraffe Center and David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage then after lunch enter shopping mall to do shopping and changing your money.  The following day early in the morning board a public bus for a transfer to a place called Voi where you will find our project vehicle waiting for you for a transfer to Lumo Community Wildlife Sanctuary.

 In this conservancy your volunteer work will involve

• Conducting wildlife counts at waterholes and monitoring poaching activity as part of our ongoing conservation work.
• De-snaring wire snares or traps that poachers set across animal tracks to capture and kill wildlife.
• Sanctuary maintenance and improvement to maximize the sanctuary's potential as prime wildlife habitat.
• Working on various water projects for the benefit of people and wildlife.
• Learning about the issues surrounding human wildlife conflict from a wildlife expert and working on ways of reducing this conflict
• Planting Trees
• Ongoing road improvements to enable anti-poaching patrols to access all areas of the sanctuary
• Developing and running environmental education workshops with the local school to teach them the value of conserving their wildlife
• Game patrols Viewing wildlife like elephants, Lions, zebras, giraffes, cheetahs, wild dogs, hyenas, warthogs, buffaloes at close quarters on this private sanctuaryThis type of work will continue through out the week. At the end of your program you will be transferred back to Nairobi.
Placement available all the year round, starting date is flexible and you are welcome to fix your best dates which fit your schedule.
