You will be picked at 9AM then proceed to Lake Nakuru for an early morning game drive. The Lake is renowned as a bird sanctuary with over 400 bird species at times, there can be up to two million greater and lesser flamingos and tens of thousands of other birds hence the park is referred to as the ‘Birds Paradise’. It’s a rhino sanctuary with excellent wildlife viewing. Game viewing will start immediately you enter the park gates arriving at the lodge in time for lunch. An afternoon game viewing has been scheduled for you departing at 16:00 hrs. The park’s landscape includes areas of marsh, grasslands alternating with rocky cliffs and outcrops, stretches of acacia woodland and rocky hillsides covered with a Euphorbia forest on the eastern perimeter. Large animals strive in the dry land surrounding the lake such as the endangered Rothschild giraffe, cape buffaloes, waterbucks, gazelles, leopard, and several species of primates can be spotted as well in the park.
Enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Soysambu Conservancy which is a home to abundant wildlife including over 400 species of birds and has one of the highest densities of game in Kenya. The conservancy has tree climbing lions, elusive leopards, giraffes, buffaloes, and wide varieties of the bird on the shoreline of Lake Elementaita. Later dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, you will depart to Masai Mara National Reserve and arrive in time for lunch. After lunch, depart for a game viewing drive in the Mara Reserve. Return back to the camp for a sumptuous buffet dinner ending with good time for resting. Masai Mara Reserve is the most popular tourism destination in Kenya. Located in the Great Rift Valley in primarily open grassland. Wildlife is most concentrated on the reserve’s western escarpment. Its regarded as the jewel of Kenya’s wildlife Viewing areas. The annual wildebeest migration alone involves over 1.5 million animals arriving in July and departing in November. Hardly can a visitor miss to spot the big five. The phenomenal wildebeest migration which is a spectacular event only seen in Maasai mara is the the wonder of the world. Later dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Spend the full day exploring Masai Mara in search of the Big Five. You will have picnic lunches in the Reserve as you scale the Mara beauty sited at the banks of Mara river. Optional: In the evening, Visit the local Maasai village for a Maasai cultural tour at USD 20 per person. Learn about the Maasai community and interact with the local Maasai people. A overnight at the Masai village can be organized upon request. A balloon safari at USD 450 per person(optional) can can be organized early morning on this day then proceed with the normal program. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place: the great migration. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (in Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna – lions, cheetahs, jackals, hyenas and vultures.
