The journey typically begins in Nairobi, departing early toward the Maasai Mara with a scenic drive along the Great Rift Valley. After arrival and lunch, the first afternoon game drive introduces you to the reserve’s abundant wildlife—lions, elephants, and possibly cheetahs.
Spend exploring the vast savannah with morning and afternoon game drives, tracking the Big Five and, depending on the season, witnessing the Great Migration.
After an early breakfast, depart the Mara and journey across the Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park. Arriving in the afternoon, you’ll head out on a game drive in this compact but wildlife-rich park. Lake Nakuru is renowned as a rhino sanctuary and offers good chances to see both black and white rhinos, along with Rothschild giraffes and, depending on the season, flocks of flamingos along the lake’s shores.
Begin your day with a morning game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park before continuing to the nearby Lake Naivasha. This freshwater lake provides a change of pace from traditional game drives. In the afternoon, you can enjoy a relaxing boat ride among hippos and birdlife or take a guided walking safari on Crescent Island, where you can walk alongside zebras, giraffes, and antelope in a peaceful setting.
After breakfast, depart Lake Naivasha and travel back through Nairobi en route to Amboseli National Park. This is the longest travel day, but the scenery gradually shifts as you approach Amboseli, known for its open plains and iconic views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Arrive in time for dinner and settle into your lodge with anticipation for the next day’s wildlife encounters.
Spend a full day exploring Amboseli National Park, famous for its large elephant herds and stunning backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. Morning and afternoon game drives offer excellent opportunities to photograph elephants up close, along with lions, cheetahs, buffalo, and a variety of birdlife. The open terrain makes wildlife easy to spot, and clear skies often reveal spectacular views of Africa’s highest peak.
On your final day, enjoy an early morning game drive in Amboseli National Park before beginning your journey back to Nairobi. You’ll arrive in the afternoon, marking the end of your 7-day safari filled with diverse landscapes, unforgettable wildlife encounters, and some of Kenya’s most iconic destinations.
