A 3-day stay at Mara Serena Safari Lodge places you in the heart of the Mara Triangle with stunning views from a lodge designed like a traditional Maasai Manyatta. Your itinerary features daily game drives to spot the Big Five, a signature Hippo Pool Breakfast by the river, and "bubbly" sundowners on Lookout Hill. Between wildlife encounters, you can relax by the rock-enclosed pool or visit a local Maasai village for a cultural connection, making for a perfect, condensed safari experience.
Your driver guide will come to pick you up at your hotel lobby within Nairobi.
Pick-up from your Nairobi hotel or airport around 7:00 AM in a 4x4 safari Jeep. Drive through the Great Rift Valley with a stop at the viewpoint for scenic photos. Arrive at your luxury lodge in the Masai Mara National Reserve, check in, and have lunch. Embark on an afternoon game drive from approximately 4:00 to 6:30 PM to spot wildlife like lions, elephants, and giraffes. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Enjoy an early breakfast, as today it will be a game-viewing extravaganza! You'll traverse the Masai Mara reserve on a full day of unlimited game viewing, encountering the Big Five and more of the lesser game. The Masai Mara National Reserve remains one of the most exciting wildlife ecosystems in the world. It hosts the highest and most varied concentration of wild animals of any other regional wildlife park. The scenic appeal of the tree-studded savannah plains, the moderate climate, and the diversity of wildlife make it a one-stop shop for game viewing. You will have a picnic lunch by the Mara River as we watch hippos and crocodiles, or maybe the great migration (July – October). Dinner and our overnight stay are at the Serena Lodge.
Enjoy a sumptuous breakfast before checking out. Afterward, you'll embark on a visit to a Maasai village, where you can immerse yourself in the rich culture and traditions of the Maasai people. This experience includes the opportunity to engage in traditional singing and dancing, allowing you to connect with the community and gain a deeper understanding of their way of life. Later, begin your journey to Nairobi. On the way, your guide will point out the Longonot extinct volcano, a strato volcano located southeast of Lake Naivasha in Kenya's Great Rift Valley. It is thought to have last erupted in the 1860s. Its name is derived from the Maasai word Oloonong'ot, meaning "mountains of many spurs" or "steep ridges". You'll arrive in Nairobi in time for lunch, and later, the driver-guide will ensure you are dropped off at your hotel or at the airport in time for your flight back home.
