You'll get picked up from your Nairobi hotel or airport and drive north toward Samburu National Reserve, crossing through the equator line along the way. After arriving in time for lunch, you can relax at your lodge before heading out on an evening game drive. This is where you'll start seeing the reserve's unique wildlife like Reticulated Giraffes, Grevy's Zebras, and Beisa Oryx.
An early morning game drive gets you out when wildlife is most active, and then you'll head back for breakfast. After lunch at the lodge, you're out again in the evening searching for northern Kenya's distinctive animals including reticulated giraffes, beisa oryx, Grevy's zebras, and gerenuks. The afternoon and evening also give you views of Mount Ol Olokwe's panoramic landscape
After breakfast, you'll leave Samburu and drive toward Sweetwaters Wildlife Sanctuary at Ol Pejeta Conservancy, spotting wildlife along the way. Once there, you'll visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary run by the Jane Goodall Institute and see the black rhino refuge with roughly 40 protected specimens. The conservancy itself is known for offering some of Kenya's best viewing opportunities for various species.
You'll drive to Lake Nakuru National Park after breakfast, with game drives happening en-route. Arriving in time for lunch, afternoon is spent exploring the park's diverse wildlife including rhinos, giraffes, zebras, and lions. The scenic lake itself serves as a rhino sanctuary and is famous for its flamingo and water bird populations.
After breakfast at the lodge, you're heading to Masai Mara National Reserve with game drives happening along the journey. You'll arrive for in time for lunch, then head out on an evening exploratory drive across the park's rolling grasslands and river forests. That first evening you can start spotting elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, lions, cheetahs, and lots of birdlife.
This is a full day of game drives throughout Masai Mara National Reserve. You'll have chances to see lions, elephants, cheetahs, and hippos throughout the landscape. If you're visiting between July and October, you might catch the wildebeest migration crossing the Mara River. A picnic lunch happens in the park, and wildlife viewing continues until evening.
