Rich in history and culture spanning over 2000 years, Hangzhou made a name for itself in the sixth century when the Grand Canal opened, linking it to other centers of trade. With inviting views and outstanding scenery, the area quickly became popular with artists, poets and painters seeking creative inspiration in this Chinese paradise. The tour begins with a 2.5 hour trip along the highway to arrive in Hangzhou. Begin your exploration of this magical city with a cruise across the West Lake. Appreciate the unforgettable scenery at the Three Pools Mirroring the Moon, the Bai and Su causeways, and Solitary Hill as the cruise meanders along, traveling from the Fish and Flower Harbor to the Shangri-la Hotel or vice-versa.

After lunch visit Guo's Villa, the finest traditional private garden in Hangzhou. Discover the rich history of chinese tea during a tour of the Meijiawu Tea Plantation, and the world-famous Dragonwell (Longjing) green tea produced there. On the return trip to Shanghai, we will stop at Qiantang River for breathtaking views of the Six Harmonies Pagoda completes a day in Hangzhou's heaven on earth.
