    Kazmierz The Former Jewish District

Then continue to Kazimierz, the historic Jewish Quarter that for centuries functioned as a separate town and a major center of Jewish culture. Along the way, you will pass historic synagogues, narrow streets, and places that reflect everyday life and traditions preserved to this day. The tour then continues through the Christian part of Kazimierz, known for its cafés, galleries, and vibrant atmosphere, illustrating the long history of coexistence between different communities. Crossing the Vistula River, you enter Podgórze, the area of the former Jewish ghetto during World War II. Here you will see a remaining fragment of the ghetto wall, Ghetto Heroes Square with its distinctive chair memorial, and the historic Under the Eagle Pharmacy — powerful reminders of Kraków’s wartime past.

    Fabryka Emalia Oskara Schindlera

Next visit Schindler’s Enamel Factory, today one of Kraków’s most visited and moving museums, and step into the story of a man whose actions made history. With a licensed expert guide, you’ll explore the acclaimed exhibition “Kraków under Nazi Occupation 1939–1945” through the lens of Oskar Schindler’s extraordinary life. This the place where Schindler employed Jewish workers and used his position, influence, and resources to protect them from deportation. More than a thousand men and women survived thanks to his courage and determination. As you walk through the exibition, your guide will bring to life the stories of those he saved, often called “Schindlerjuden,” whose testimony continues to resonate across generations. Photographs, personal objects, and reconstructed streets show the fear, uncertainty, and daily struggles faced by the city’s inhabitants. Within this backdrop of oppression, Schindler’s story emerges as one of humanity and hope.
