1Rock-Hewn Churches of Lalibela
Day 1: Addis Ababa -Lalibela Early in the morning, you’ll take a domestic flight from Addis Ababa to Lalibela. Upon arrival, meet your local guide and transfer to your hotel. After check-in and a short rest, begin your guided tour of the northern cluster of Lalibela’s rock-hewn churches, including the majestic Bet Medhane Alem, Bet Maryam, and Bet Meskel, all connected by tunnels and passageways carved from solid rock. After lunch at a local restaurant, continue exploring more churches before returning to your hotel for dinner and overnight. Day 2: Lalibela- Addis Ababa After breakfast, visit the southern cluster of churches, concluding with the iconic Bet Giyorgis (St. George), Ethiopia’s most famous rock-hewn church, shaped like a perfect cross and carved into the earth. Depending on time and interest, enjoy a visit to a traditional Tej house (local honey wine bar) or local market. In the afternoon, transfer to the airport for your return flight to Addis Ababa.
