The Corinth Canal connects the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea. It cuts through the narrow Isthmus of Corinth and separates the Peloponnese from the Greek mainland, arguably making the peninsula an island.
Mycenae is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home of King Agamemnon and the Mycenean civilization with some of Greece’s most famous ancient ruins. Wander around the archaeological site and accompanying museum.
The Venetian castle has an awesome walk of 999 steps down to the Old Town. Enjoy the water views next to the peninsula and take some great photos.
Nafplio's port, Palamidi castle with the 999 steps, and the old Venetian town are the main attractions of one of the most beautiful towns in Greece.
Epidaurus, another Unesco World Heritage Site, is home to an ancient, beautifully preserved theater. The oldest theater with amazing acoustics.
OPTIONAL: Ancient Corinth was inhabited in the Neolithic period (6500-3250 BC) but the big prosperity began in the 8th century. Corinth was a city-state and for Christians, Corinth is well known from the two letters of Saint Paul in the New Testament, First and Second Corinthians. Corinth is also mentioned in the Acts of the Apostles as part of the Paul the Apostle's missionary travels.
OPTIONS: Ouzo tasting or wine tasting can be arranged. Be ready for our "special moments" and complementary stops for tasting or just exploring the hidden gems.
Visit the very historic and cosmopolitan island of Hydra; the hiding place of the rich, the famous, and the artists from all over the world. No cars, no noise but still extremely popular and relaxed! Explore on foot and enjoy the views.
The boat to Hydra runs from the port of Ermioni village (5 minutes away from your accommodation). The very nice boat ride takes 30 minutes each way and costs 8 EUR per person each way.
We will break the bubble that separates a traveler from the world they’ve traveled so far to experience. We will "introduce" you to the village so that you will blend in and feel safe like a local. Then, you will be looking forward to walking to the port and enjoying a coffee or a Greek spinach pie from the local bakery the same way the Greeks do.
This is the place where you will spend all your nights and will also be your base to explore and relax. On this day 3, you can self-explore and discover what real Greece is like. The views, the walks, the coastline, the tavernas and coffee shops next to the water, the people, the food, and the drink.
We will explore the area in our private vehicle to see all there is to see and feel. The local villages (mostly by the water), the local sites (monasteries, caves) and the beautiful coastline.
We will (optionally) spend some beach time with or without swimming choosing one of the numerous beautiful spots of the area.
Spetses is an island boasting a long naval tradition and is famous for its significant contribution to the 1821 War of Independence. The island has managed to retain its traditional character thanks to its well-preserved grand captain mansions witness to the island’s glorious past. The picturesque old harbor is where the heart of the island’s entertainment beats.
You will access Spetses Island by boat which only takes 10 minutes from the mainland. The port location to catch the boat is 30 minutes from your base (Ermioni village) and we will drive you there and pick you up too on the way back. You will decide how much time you would like to spend on the island to explore and enjoy lunch.
OPTION: Poros is another island optional visit instead of Spetses. This is an 80-minute drive from Ermioni village and only a 5-minute boat ride to the island.
OPTION: Another option is to visit the Metahna peninsula which looks a lot like an island with a narrow crossing from the mainland.
Inspiring Awe and Reverence! We will visit a very remote and beautifully located old monastery of Saint Dimitrios.
Dolines at Didyma village is a rare geological phenomenon intriguing to specialists. These special sinkholes were created by natural processes of erosion. Stone tools that date back to the Late Neolithic Age, found in one of the sinkholes, attest to their use as shelters since the prehistoric age. Two cave churches, Saint George and Jesus Transfiguration, are built under the cliff of one of the doline walls.
A lovely coastline town ideal for a coffee stop and walk.
We will return to Athens to drop you off at your hotel or even directly to the airport (with an extra cost of 50 EUR).
