This temple was one of the most important cult centers of the goddess Hathor, who was revered as the Goddess of Maternity, Joy, Music, and Love. The Greeks identified Hathor with their own goddess of love, Aphrodite. This temple is relatively new in comparison to other ancient Egyptian sites and was established during the Roman era. As such, you can expect to see Egyptian gods and Roman emperors depicted in its decorations. The temple is dedicated to the wife of god Horus, making it a fascinating piece of Egyptian mythology. One highlight of the temple is the beautiful ceiling, which features the Dendera Zodiac, including the signs of Libra the Balance and Taurus the Bull. It's a truly unique sight to behold.
