The Wahga Border Flag Ceremony Is a Unique Experience. This ceremony is fully conducted by the BSF on the Indian side and the Rangers on Pakistan's side. The Wagah border ceremony indicates the rivalry between the two countries and also shows the brotherhood and love shared. The purpose of the Wagah Border Ceremony is to formally close the border for the night and take off the National Flag. The Flag Lowering Ceremony is done daily before sunset. However, this is an entertainment ceremony but displayed as a patriotic performance every day.

    About "Wagah Border Ceremony":- The Wagah Border Ceremony, more popularly known as Beating Retreat Ceremony, was started in 1959. The purpose of the "Wagah Border Ceremony" is to formally close the border for the night and take off the National Flag of both nations. The Flag Lowering Ceremony is done daily before sunset. However, this is an entertainment ceremony but displayed as a patriotic performance every day. During Wagah Border Ceremony; National Anthem is played, slogans of patriotism. Apart from this, sometimes cultural programs are also organized. In this ceremony, people from other countries of the world along with Pakistani citizens participate. At the time of the retreat, the border looks like a battleground, as the procession is conducted with loud shouts and heavy foot stomping by the soldiers. A form of marching where soldiers lift up their legs very high is known as “Goose Marching”

    Shalimar Bagh (Shalimar Gardens)

    The Shalimar Gardens, constructed by Shah Jahan in 1641-2 is a Mughal garden, layering Persian influences over medieval Islamic garden traditions, and bearing witness to the apogee of Mughal artistic expression. The Shalimar Bagh is well known for "chini khanas", or arched niches, behind garden waterfalls. They are a unique feature in the Bagh. These niches were lit at night with oil lamps, which gave a fairy-tale appearance to the waterfalls.
