En route to Port Antonio, you’ll stop at Charlestown for another Jamaica Discovery Included activity: Charlestown Maroon Experience – a journey into history, learn the story of the Maroons – runaway slaves who fought against the British during the 17th to 19th centuries. Participate in indigenous dancing, singing and drumming with the community members. Learn how to blow the Abeng and you’ll be served traditional Maroon food for lunch after which you can relax or take a swim in the river that runs next to the settlement. From Charlestown we head to Port Antonio.

Your options are – visit The Blue Lagoon where swimming the Lagoon is a once in a lifetime experience – From the Blue Lagoon take a boat or bamboo raft over to Monkey Island or visit the Lagoons fountain of Youth. Other things to do include visiting Frenchman’s Cove Beach, Reach Falls, or go Snorkeling or Scuba Diving in the Caribbean Sea or just go shopping – Portland offers good craft shopping, intricate but affordable pieces that will serve as sentimental reminders of your time in heaven
