The history of Corfu Town is intricately linked with its fortifications, and the offshore island of Vidos played a pivotal role in this regard. Just five minutes by boat from the port, Vidos is now a protected wildlife sanctuary. However, in the past, it was home to three major fortresses, the remains of which still stand today. Embark on a walking tour around the island to explore the ancient walls, picturesque beaches, and other hidden gems while delving into its rich history and its significance in protecting Corfu. In the island's enchanting forests, you may even come across pheasants, peacocks, and wild rabbits.

There is a snack bar open on the island. Feel free to bring your own food and drinks, especially if you plan to spend time on the beaches.

    Take your time during the walk to swim in the crystal-clear waters off Tramoudana beach. You'll find a peaceful beach, as not many tourists know about it. Bring your swimwear and some food and drinks, and just relax in the tranquillity of this area. It's a nice little beach where the crystal-clear water and small stones create a serene and tranquil atmosphere. Despite the lack of facilities, the sight of wildlife will add an element of charm to the experience.
