Meeting and pickup
Please be at our location 20 minutes before the start of the tour. Our main base is Ytri-Sólheimar 1 in Mýrdalur about 25km west of Vík and about 11km east of Skógar. From Reykjavík there is about 160km and the driving time is about 2hours. From the main road is 1.2km drive by road 222 to our base.
What to expect
Begin your adventure at our base camp, where you'll gear up, receive a safety briefing, and learn how to operate your easy-to-drive buggy—no prior experience necessary, just a valid driver’s license.
From there, set off into the wild, black-sand landscapes of South Iceland. Splash through shallow rivers, speed along gravel tracks, and take in panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. As you approach the edge of Myrdalsjökull glacier, the contrast between the glowing ice cap and the dark volcanic desert is truly unforgettable.
