Danthure is rarely visited. The village temple called Danthure Rajamaha Viharaya is actually only small and not spectacular. But it can be considered to be the best specimen of a typical type of temple of the Kandyan period, namely a shrine on stilts or more precisely: on stone boulders, protecting the wooden shrine from vermin and humidity.
