Live the magic of the Colca tour 2 days and one night ending in Puno
This bus adventure will take you through ancient Andean towns, reserves and impressive natural landscapes located in the Colca Valley. Each stop is explained by the guide, who also assists and guides passengers on the trip. The activities in the Colca Valley and the tourist attractions are varied, but the most important is the tour to the Colca Canyon and the flight of the Condor. Finally, our tour concludes by traveling to the city of Puno with stops along the route.
We pick them up from the hotel as long as they are in the city center. In the event that the center is not found our meeting point is in the Plaza de Armas- Puerta del Catedral.
Travelers who do not have their hotel in the city center. Our meeting point will be at the door of the cathedral in the main square of Arequipa.
We will take the volcano route, climbing the slopes of the Chachani volcano, and having an amazing view of the Misti volcano and Picchu Picchu. Our path will cross the Pampa Cañahuas vicuña reserve, a high Andean habitat where they live and are protected. We will have a stop at the Bofedales de Tocra, watered by springs. This place provides a unique opportunity to spot camelids, birds such as ducks and Andean flamingos, and also observe local muleteers.
We will stop at the Andes viewpoint, known as Pata Pampa. Located at 4,900 meters above sea level, it is the highest point of the entire trip. From this place we can observe the active volcano of Sabancaya, the snow-capped mountain of Ampato and Hualca Hualca.
We will begin to descend towards the town of Chivay, where we will have our lunch, a varied buffet based on typical products. After that we will check-in at the hotel of your choice, we will rest for a moment to continue with our tour.
Then we will go to take a refreshing bath in the thermal and medicinal pools of Chacapi. In the surrounding area you can do activities such as: kayaking, ziplining.
In the evening we will meet to attend a dinner at a folkloric club where you can enjoy a folkloric show with typical dances of the area.
We will have breakfast at our hotel, to begin our visit to the Colca Canyon.
where we will appreciate its legendary church and the typical “WITITI” dance, declared Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Then, we will enjoy the Colca Valley with its cultivation terraces, its native flora and fauna, and its pre-Hispanic heritage.
We will arrive at the Cruz del Cóndor, a strategic point to observe the majesty of the Colca Canyon and the flight of the Andean condor (Vultur gryphus), the largest non-marine bird on the planet, named cultural and natural heritage of South America.
On the way back we will visit the Huayra Punko viewpoint, in Pinchollo, and then the Antahuilque viewpoint, in order to observe some models, enchanted lagoons – legend has it that they are inhabited by mermaids – and pre-Inca hanging tombs. The next stop is in Maca, a small and picturesque town there.
We finished our stay in the Colca Valley with a varied buffet in the town of Chivay. To then begin our trip to Puno.
Known as Patapampa, located at 4900 meters above sea level, where we can appreciate the Misti, Chachani, Sabancaya and Ampato volcanoes. Also here you can see the "apachetas" (in ancient times, travelers left these small stone towers as offerings to the gods to ensure their safe return).
Here you can enjoy an aperitif and traditional coca tea, at this point you can also use SS.HH.
Our last stop is in Lagunillas, at this point of visit you have a panoramic view of the small lakes that seem to be mirrors that reflect the sky, it is also the habitat of Andean flamingos and other birds, without a doubt, a great opportunity to take photos . To then begin our trip directly to Puno arriving at approximately 7:00pm.
