Your small shared group (maximum of 6 participants) historical walking tour with a native bilingual historian will take you through the enchanting streets of the Walled City to Cartagena's first barrio, Getsemani. You will learn the deeper, inclusive history of the indigenous inhabitants, enslaved Africans, and colonial empire of Spain's power and influence, from Cartagena to its connection to other Latin American countries and the world. You will explore the streets like a scavenger hunt to find what is hidden in plain sight that makes Cartagena uniquely "La Heroica,"  the Heroic City, and its enduring charm. You will put on an anthropological lens as you observe daily life in the walled city to understand the socio-geographic and socio-demographic life from the past to the present and future opportunities developing not only Cartagena but the coastal communities and greater Colombia!

It is now a vibrant street art district and a portrait of local daily life and local street party scenes at night. You will discover how significant Getsemani is to the historic center of Cartagena and the independence of the nation of Colombia!
