Your flight takes you over the peninsula’s most recent eruption zone, where crater formations, lava fields and geothermal colors reveal the dynamic character of this volcanic region. From above, you’ll see how old and new lava flows meet rugged ridgelines, valleys and the coastline—offering a unique view of Iceland’s geological forces.
If conditions allow, your pilot may include a landing stop on a safe lava-field area for photos. When a landing is possible, the total duration extends toward 60 minutes. Landing opportunities depend on weather, volcanic activity and safety guidelines. With approximately 35–45 minutes of flight time, this tour offers a memorable and time-efficient overview of the Reykjanes volcanic area.
