It was built in 1891 at the location Fanari of the cape Armenistis, approximately 5 km northwest of Chora. Its construction was decided after the British steamboat VOLTA sank causing the death of 11 members of the crew in 1887 on the north coast of Mykonos. The tower rises up to 19 meters and it has a focal height of 184 meters. The mechanism of the original lamp was made by SAUTER LEMONIER and functioned at the top of the lighthouse until 1983. Since then part of it is kept in the garden of the Aegean Maritime Museum, at the area Three Wells, in Chora.

Ftelia beach is a world-wide famous beach in the famous resort of Mykonos. It"s northern location has established the beach as a wind surfers paradise, as it is almost always quite windy. The crystal clear waters and the unique landscape (sand and rocks) really deserve a visit. The beach is also well known for the famous neolithic settlement found there believed that is the tomb of ancient Iliad hero Ajax the Locrian.

Mersini Beach is the perfect place to go when you want to unwind and enjoy peace and quiet. The beach is isolated, so you won’t find many other people around. Don’t be caught off guard if you notice nudists at Mersini Beach. Thanks to its remote location, it’s the perfect spot for this. Whether you want to lay on the beach and sunbathe or swim the day away, Mersini Beach is the perfect little spot.

The Monastery of Paleokastro is located on a hill close to Ano Mera, the second village of Mykonos, in one of the greenest spots on the island. This is a nunnery (female monastery) and it dates from the 18th century. Its architecture is typical Cycladic and it took its name from the close remains of the Gizi Castle, which is also known as Paleokastro (meaning Old Castle in Greek).

Ano Mera is actually the second biggest town on the island, with Mykonos Town being the largest. With that being said, Ano Mera maintains a small town feel. Even though tourists do make their way here, this isn’t one of those places that is completely overrun by them. In fact, this is a fairly quiet place that will offer visitors to the island a place to relax and enjoy the island beyond all the parties.
