What to expect

During this small-group Vienna wine tasting, you spend the evening at Wein and Co. Your certified sommelier greets you with a glass of Austrian Sekt, introduces the plan and then guides you through six premium Austrian wines, poured from lighter to fuller styles. Typical examples include Gruner Veltliner, Riesling and elegant reds from regions such as Burgenland, with clear explanations of each grape, region and flavor profile.

Throughout the tasting, a generous shared menu is served at the table, usually including artisan bread and butter, the house “Piatto Grande,” cheeses, vegetables and warm dishes such as Croque to Share, beef tartare and seasonal chef specials. The focus is on how the food and wine work together, rather than a formal multi-course dinner. To end the evening, your sommelier leads you into the Raritatenkeller, Wein and Co’s private rarity cellar, for a short visit and a few final stories before you return to the bar or stay on for another glass at your own expense.
