Game viewing in the Maasai Mara is excellent all year round thanks to its varied landscapes, wide open spaces, temperate climate and diverse population of resident game. Its champagne-colored savannahs are home to safari heavyweights like lion, leopard, elephant and buffalo, plus popular species like zebra, giraffe, hyena, eland and gazelle. Rhino sightings are scarce, but these endangered animals can be spotted – if you’re in luck – in the Mara Triangle.

Itinerary

Duration: 6 hours (approximately)

    Maasai Mara National Reserve

    Pick up from your hotel at 6:30am transfer to Wilson airport to catch your flight leaving at 7:30am and arriving in Maasai Mara at 8:10am. On arrival you will meet our driver guide waiting at the airstrip ready to start your 5 hours game drive. You will have 30 minutes break in between to enjoy your picnic lunch in park under a croton tree shade. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place: This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (in Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are predators of savanna – lions, cheetahs, jackals, hyenas, vultures. The great migration happens between July to mid-September but it’s not guaranteed nor predictable. Later around 1:30pm you begin driving towards the airstrip to catch your flight back departing at 2:45pm arriving in Nairobi at 4:15pm. Our driver will be waiting to transfer you to the airport/your hotel. End of tour.
