This is a private, small-group photography experience led by a working professional photographer — not a tour guide with a camera. Maximum 3 guests means genuine one-to-one guidance throughout, from boat to island to clifftop.
Most Skellig boats leave from Portmagee. We depart from Kenmare at 7.30am, with a scenic 50 minute drive to your licensed boat operator.
On the water, you'll circumnavigate the Little Skellig gannet colony — over 30,000 birds — at close range. On Skellig Michael, puffins nest within metres of the path. You'll have time, guidance, and the right vantage points to make images you're proud of, not just snapshots from a moving crowd.

Meeting and pickup
Hotel pickup within Kenmare at 7:30am. Approximately 50-minute scenic drive to the harbour before boarding
What to expect
Departing Kenmare at 7:30am, we take a scenic drive through the Ring of Kerry to the harbour, before boarding a licensed boat to land on Skellig Michael itself. Once on the island, you'll photograph puffins, razorbills and guillemots at close range — birds that nest here in their thousands every summer.
On the return journey we circumnavigate Little Skellig, home to one of the largest gannet colonies in the world, for breathtaking water-level photography.
Back in Kenmare by early afternoon.
