We can arrange pick-up between the airport and the marina if you opt to stay on the boat overnight.

The course usually runs every week from Monday to Friday (between 09.30hrs and 17.00hrs). The yacht you will be sailing is called “Look far”, a Bavaria 44 four cabins version, and is moored in Manoel Island Marina, pontoon D, near the Paparazzi restaurant. We will meet you directly on the boat.

What to expect

From our base in Manoel Island, we will be sailing around the Maltese Archipelago including the picturesque sister islands of Comino and Gozo if weather permits. You will also have had a fantastic holiday and will have visited some great marinas and harbors along the way.

You can learn to sail from scratch, get trained to be a crew member, and obtain the world-recognized RYA Competent Crew qualification by the end of the course. You will experience living on board and really get to know how to handle the boat. Virtually all the course is hands-on. You are the crew - without you, the sails won't go up.

By the end of the course you should be able to prepare a yacht for departure, some basic navigation, helm, handle sails, handle lines for berthing and leaving a berth, keep a lookout, MOB drill, lower and raise the anchor, and assist in all the day to day duties on board.
