The purpose of our tour is to enlighten you about this gem and its significance in Colombia. You will discover the difference between a high-quality emerald and a lower-quality one, the extraction process, the art of carving this precious stone, and how to distinguish a fake emerald from a real one.
Our first stop will be Rosario Square, where you'll uncover why people stand there all day – it's the hub of the informal emerald trade! Next, we'll head to a workshop where we have demonstrations of the extraction and carving process of this precious stone. Finally, we'll visit a jewelry store to witness how these exquisite jewels are ultimately sold.
At the end of the tour, we'll explore the Emerald Museum, where you'll enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the city. We will enter the Emerald Trade Center, a building dedicated to the formal trade of emeralds. There, we will learn about the differences in quality and discover some emeralds with special characteristics that are unique to Colombia.

3Museo Internacional De La Esmeralda
At the Emerald Museum, we will see a representation of an emerald mine tunnel and enjoy a panoramic view of the city from the 23rd floor of the Avianca building.
