Misti volcano is one of the most famous volcano in Peru. Its shape is pyramidal, it has two craters and it means a lot to the locals, since it has been considered the protector of the city since the time of the Incas. The Incas had great respect for him and left offerings and human sacrifices, some of which have been found in the small crater. Finally climbing this volcano is not difficult or technical, it is like doing a mountain hike, but it is important to have acclimatization before going up.

    Day 1

    Arequipa - Base Camp

    At 8:00 is the pick up from your hotel in arequipa city. The car trip lasts an hour and a half up to 3,400 meters, where we will start the trek. The ascent will be approximately six hours to the base camp that is located at 4,665 meters. During the walk you can see the flora and fauna of the place such as cacti and different birds. Upon arrival at the camp we will prepare our tents and eat. This day ends with a beautiful sunset. You should carry: -Lunch and snacks -Mountain shoes -Headlamp -Sleeping bag -Bottle of water 5liters -60 liter backpack -Walking sticks -Tip

  • Day 2

    Base Camp - Summit - Back to Arequipa

    After breakfast at 3 am in the morning we will begin the ascent to the top slowly for approximately six hours to the summit at 5,825 meters. From here you can see the Chachani volcanoes, Pichu Pichu, the Aguada Blanca National Reserve and a beautiful panoramic view of the city of Arequipa. After observing the landscape, resting and taking photos we will start the return to the base camp, being the return fun and easy. After a snack and a little rest, we will descend two more hours to 3,400 meters. Here the car that will take us back to the city of Arequipa and its hotels awaits us. Arrival will be approximately 4:00 p.m.
