Granby vikingagård

30 to 45 minutes (approximately)
Offered in: Swedish and 1 more

1000 years ago there was a mighty Viking farm here in Granby. Among graves and building remains are the foundation and the plateau after a large hall building at the top of the hill next to Granbyhällen.
The Granby archaeological site was partially archaeologically examined by the National Heritage Board 1988-1989. The site is a typical example of how a farm environment of high status could take shape in the Mälaren area during the Late Iron Age. With the guide's help, we get to know the Viking farm, life there and also the names of some of the inhabitants.
