Your first stop is the historically significant Temple of Alexander the Great, also known as the Temple of the Oracle. Legend has it that Alexander the Great himself made the arduous journey to Siwa to consult the oracle, seeking confirmation of his divine lineage as the son of Zeus (Amun). Immerse yourself in the history and mystique of this ancient site. Next, prepare for a unique and invigorating experience at the Salty Lake. The incredibly high salinity of the water will effortlessly lift you above the surface, making swimming a buoyant and relaxing affair, even for non-swimmers. Exercise caution to avoid getting water in your eyes, as it can be quite stinging. Seek out the crystal-clear sections of the lake where you can see the bottom. It is highly recommended to bring a bottle of mineral water for a refreshing rinse after your swim.

Cleopatra's Pool - Spring of Juba
At approximately 11:00 AM, you will proceed to Cleopatra's Bath (Ain Guba), also known as the Spring of the Sun. This natural spring has been documented by numerous travelers to Siwa, and local lore suggests that the legendary Queen Cleopatra herself once bathed in its waters. Continue your exploration to the Temple of Umm Ubaydah or Amun Temple, located just a short distance from the Temple of the Oracle. This temple was erected during the 30th Dynasty by Pharaoh Nectanebo. Sadly, the structure was largely destroyed in 1896 by an Ottoman governor seeking building materials. Today, only an inscribed wall remains. However, based on historical drawings, scholars have reconstructed the temple's original grandeur.

Enjoy some free time for souvenir shopping, browsing the local crafts and products. You will also visit the fascinating Mountain of the Dead (Gebel Al-Mawta), a conical hill just north of Shali. Numerous tombs dating back to the 26th Dynasty, Ptolemaic, and Roman periods are carved into its slopes. Explore the four most noteworthy tombs, adorned with intriguing paintings and inscriptions.
