Explore Meteora, a monument characterized as one of the “Treasures of the World” by UNESCO and enlisted in its World Heritage List and admire the unique landscape. A unique geological phenomenon that would be worth visiting if it was just for the natural beauty of it, but the thing is that on top of those rocks exist wonderful and historical monasteries of orthodox Cristian religion. Each monastery, a marvel of architecture and spirituality, holds centuries of history within its walls.Enjoy breathtaking views, and learn about the region’s rich history and culture.
At Meteora you will have the opportunity to visit 2 or 3 monasteries depends on the time that you will spend in each one.
During our trip you will visit Thermopylae. You will see the Battlefield view from above, the Ancient hot gates, the Leonidas and 300 Spartans' monument. See Kolonos Hill is the place where the last Spartans died protecting the dead body of King Leonidas.

Traveler pickup is offered for any hotel or location in Athens. This is a private tour. Only your group will participate. The pick-up time is adjustable upon your request. Your personal driver will pick you up and return you to the same place or to the point you prefer. In case of a hotel, he will be waiting for you in the hotel lobby. In case of an apartment, he will be waiting for you at the entrance of the building. We also offer pickup from Athens International Airport or any Athens port (Piraeus, Lavrio, Rafina). In case of airport pick up your driver will monitor your flight and wait for you in the arrivals hall with a sign with your name on it to start your Tour. We will track your flight and our driver will be there on time. In case of port pick up, your driver will monitor your ship and will waiting for you at the gate, just us you disembark,holding a sign with your name on it start your Tour.     We start our tour early in the morning from Athens till Meteora. Our driver will pick you up from your hotel/ apartment or the airport/ port. The travel time is about 4,5 hours.

    The Meteora is a rock formation and a World Heritage site, hosting one of the largest and most precipitously built complexes of Eastern Orthodox monasteries.

    The Holy Monastery of Varlaam is the second biggest monastery of Meteora. Located very close to Great Meteoro Monastery, it was founded in the mid 14th century by a monk named Varlaam. Varlaam managed to climb on the cliff around 1350 and followed by a few other monks he was able to establish the monastery. Decades later in the early 15th century, after Varlaam died, the cliff was abandoned by the rest of the monks. The 14th-century chapel built by him and dedicated to the “Three Hierarchs” was almost turned into ruins.

    The Monastery of the Holy Trinity Meteora Greece (Agia Triada in Greek) is one of the most famous Greek monasteries. Like most monasteries in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Meteora, the monastery of the Holy Trinity is a structure carved into a rocky precipice.

    Monument to King Leonidas and 300 Spartans standing at the entrance to the Thermopylae Gorge. It was built in 1955. It depicts the figure of a king dressed in a warrior costume, with a shield and a spear. Next to it are personifications of Tajget - the highest peak of the Peloponnese and the Evrotas River. The monument commemorates the heroic defense of the gorge, which was made by the Spartans in 480 BC.
