Meet your Driver Guide after breakfast and start a drive on board of a Premium Mercedes vehicle towards ETNA the biggest and most active volcano of Europe. Reach the altitude of 6500 feet. Soak up the atmosphere of the volcano as you walk at the nearby Silvestri Craters. Possibility to reach 9800 feet by cable car. En route stop for a Wine Tasting at a local winery (optional) which is embedded in a charming and unique context. (If weather for Etna isn’t good, alternatively the program will include Catania & Cyclops Coast).
Drive to the small village SAVOCA, a delightful place built on two hills and with remnants of a castle. Stop for a lemon Granita at the famous corner bar Vitelli. Make our way to the church of St.Lucy, where Apollonia and Michael’s wedding was shot. There are also incredible views along the coastline from the belvedere.
Departure with your Driver for SYRACUSE, the Greek capital of Sicily, lies in a splendid natural scenery enhanced by the light and beauty of its coast. The most ousted monument in the ancient city is the Greek Theater. 138 meter in diameter and could house 15.000 spectators and more. Neapolis retains the Latomie, which are vast caves used for Ancient Greek building. The biggest of the Latomie del Paradiso, also called “Ear of Dionysius”. (Local Guide on request)
ORTYGIA is the most illustrious ad fascinating district of Syracuse, and presents a coherent and harmonious medieval road network. Several buildings still retain the vestiges of a past. The most important centre in the district is the Cathedral Square, onto whose axis the most notable civil and religious buildings converge. After a lunch break drive back to Taormina in the afternoon.
