Our tour begins with a visit to the sanctuary of Dionysus -ancient god of wine, surrounded with olive, fig trees, and vines. Here, your expert guide will share with you the love story of Dionysus and Ariadne, the ecstatic dances and the wine banquets held on site.We continue our journey of discovery enjoying a panoramic drive through the countryside, to reach Demitra’s sanctuary overlooking the fertile plains of Sangri. Continuing our drive to the largest olive grove of the island with hundred years old olive trees- precious gift of Athena, goddess of wisdom… to reach the small unspoiled village of Kaloxylos. Here we conclude our tour with time dedicated to the god of Hospitality – Xenios Zeus, savoring the islands precious goods - olive oil, cheese, wine and honey – gifts of the ancient gods.

We will then drive to Iria to visit the splendid sanctuary of the god Dionysus located in a beautiful setting of vines, olives and figs. The archaeological site has been used as a sacred location since prehistoric times and here we’ll discover all about the patron god of Naxos who has formed the island’s joyful character.

Visit the Temple of Demetra, ancient goddess of fertility of the land and agriculture. Discuss about the myth of Persephone and Hades and ancient traditions related to the rebirth of nature. Together with your professional guide marvel at the restored original temple and learn about the technical contribution of the Naxians to the development of architecture.
