Begin your half-day tour with a convenient pickup from your hotel in Cairo or Giza by your professional tour guide. Head to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC), one of Egypt’s most important cultural institutions. Inside the Main Exhibition Hall, explore the four core crafts that shaped Egyptian civilization: pottery, woodwork, textiles, and ornaments. Discover fascinating and unique artifacts, including the world’s oldest prosthetic toe, a 30,000-year-old human skeleton, and the historic Kaaba Cover (Kiswa)—the last one produced in Egypt during the era of President Gamal Abdel Nasser. You will also see the Mahmal, which was once used to transport the Kaaba cover from Egypt to Saudi Arabia in a grand annual procession.
