    Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa

    Our first stop in Alexandria is a visit to The Catacomb of Kom EL-Shoqafa for one hour with your Egyptology. The Catacombs is the one of largest and most important burial site in Egypt, and was considered one of the Seven Wonders of the World in the middle ages. The Catacomb is an ancient circular staircase that leads into tombs that were tunneled into the bedrock during the age of the Antonine emperors.
