You will have full access to them on Day 3 after checking into your hotel.
Day 1 & 2 Essentials: Please have one small backpack ready with essentials for your first and second nights in the jungle cabins.
To ensure your comfort during jungle treks, please bring only what is necessary and avoid carrying too much weight.
Alternative Option: Our trusted coordinator in Leticia, Don Carlos, can also keep your luggage safe. If you choose this option, please note you will not have access to it until the final day of the tour.
Deep Jungle Immersion: The Ticuna Family Legacy Hike 2 km into the rainforest to reach the secluded cabin of Carlos and his wife, a young Ticuna couple leading a passionate local entrepreneurship. Far from a standard tour, this is a personal invitation to share their ancestral wisdom, inherited directly from their elders. Explore their 'Chagra' (traditional farming), learn about the jungle's secrets through their eyes, and enjoy a traditional wood-fired dinner. As night falls, surrounded by the mystical 'Aguajal' wetland, you’ll witness the jungle's nocturnal symphony in total privacy.
High Jungle Trek & Wildlife Tracking: Embark on an active 8km hike through the pristine high jungle of Amacayacu. Walk among giant trees and diverse palm forests while tracking wildlife in their natural state—look out for monkeys, reptiles, and exotic insects. This 3-hour physical immersion ends with a well-deserved traditional cultural lunch at the San Martín de Amacayacu indigenous community.
Tarapoto Lakes: Wildlife & Night Safari Sail from Puerto Nariño to the heart of the Tarapoto Wetlands (Ramsar site). Experience the thrill of piranha fishing and a private swim in the mirror-like waters. Witness the legendary pink and grey dolphins as the sun sets over the jungle. The day concludes with an exclusive night safari to spot black caimans and nocturnal life before retiring to your cabin.
Cross-Border Safari: Sloths & Peruvian Culture: Embark on a private boat journey across the Amazon River to Cacao Island in Peru. Explore the serene forests of 'San Antonio del Cacao' to track sloths in their natural habitat. Visit the local community to experience their peaceful lifestyle, ancestral natural medicine, and the fascinating mythology of the Peruvian Amazon.
Puerto Nariño: The Sustainable Heart of the Amazon: Discover Colombia’s first certified sustainable town, free of motor vehicles. This peaceful port features colorful wooden houses and vibrant local markets. Visit the 'Natütama' museum to understand the 'underwater world' of the river and meet local artisans.
Maikuchiga: The Monkey House: Visit the indigenous community of Mocagua to discover Maikuchiga, a primate rehabilitation center. Walk or canoe through the pristine flooded forest to meet species in recovery, including Woolly monkeys (Churucos) and Capuchins. Learn about the vital conservation efforts led by the community to protect these species.
Amazon Kayak Expedition: Experience the magic of the 'Varzea' (flooded forest) as you paddle among giant trees in total silence. Observe a vibrant display of biodiversity, from tropical birds to river dolphins. During the low water season, we explore the majestic white-sand beaches of the Amazon River.
70km Scenic River Journey & Leticia City Tour: After a final Amazonian breakfast, board a fast boat for a 70km scenic journey back to Leticia (approx. 2 hours). If your flight schedule allows, enjoy a complimentary 1-to-3-hour City Tour of Leticia to explore local landmarks and markets before your departure. Finally, we provide a smooth transfer to the airport (LET) for your flight back to Bogotá.
