Upon arrival in Kom Ombo, you'll visit the Kom Ombo Temple, which is shared by the two gods Sobek and Haroeris, accompanied by your Egyptologist tour guide. After the visit, the cruise will continue sailing to Aswan, passing the spectacular Aswan Bridge and the captivating lights of the Aswan Tombs of the Nobles. Dinner will be served on board, and you'll spend the night on the Nile cruise ship in Aswan.
In Aswan, your journey begins with a visit to the High Dam, an impressive modern engineering feat completed in 1970. The dam, measuring 3,600 meters in length and 111 meters in height, was constructed to control the annual flooding of the Nile River and to generate hydroelectric power. It also created Lake Nasser, the world’s largest artificial lake, providing water storage and irrigation to support agriculture throughout Egypt.
Lastly, you'll visit the enchanting Temple of Philae, dedicated to the goddess Isis. Originally located on Philae Island, the temple complex was meticulously relocated to Agilkia Island in the 1960s to save it from submersion caused by the High Dam's construction.
