Return to the cruise for lunch and begin sailing south along the Nile. Enjoy the relaxing scenery from the sun deck before dinner and overnight onboard.
After breakfast on board the Nile cruise ship, you'll embark on a fascinating tour of the Horus Temple at Edfu with your knowledgeable guide. After the tour, you'll return to the cruise ship and sail on to Kom Ombo, enjoying lunch on board.
Upon arrival in Kom Ombo, you'll visit the Kom Ombo Temple, which is shared by the two gods Sobek and Haroeris, accompanied by your Egyptologist tour guide. After the visit, the cruise will continue sailing to Aswan, passing the spectacular Aswan Bridge and the captivating lights of the Aswan Tombs of the Nobles. Dinner will be served on board, and you'll spend the night on the Nile cruise ship in Aswan.
In Aswan, your journey begins with a visit to the High Dam, an impressive modern engineering feat completed in 1970. The dam, measuring 3,600 meters in length and 111 meters in height, was constructed to control the annual flooding of the Nile River and to generate hydroelectric power. It also created Lake Nasser, the world’s largest artificial lake, providing water storage and irrigation to support agriculture throughout Egypt.
Lastly, you'll visit the enchanting Temple of Philae, dedicated to the goddess Isis. Originally located on Philae Island, the temple complex was meticulously relocated to Agilkia Island in the 1960s to save it from submersion caused by the High Dam's construction. The temple is renowned for its beautiful pylons, intricate reliefs, and its role as a major cult center for Isis worship during the Ptolemaic period. The journey to Philae involves a short, scenic boat ride, adding to the mystical atmosphere of this historic sanctuary.
After breakfast, you will disembark the Nile cruise, with free time to explore the charming city of Aswan and its famous Nubian culture. Later, you will be transferred to Aswan airport or the train station for your departure.
