Cerro del Cubilete is an iconic mountain located in Guanajuato, Mexico. It is known for its monumental statue of the Christ the King, which is located on top of the hill and is one of the largest in the world. Construction of the Christ the King statue began in 1944 and was completed in 1947. It was erected as a monument to peace and to commemorate the end of the Cristera War in Mexico. El Cubilete Hill is also a place of great religious importance for Mexican Catholics, who consider it a sacred and pilgrimage site. It also offers a stunning view of the city of Guanajuato and its surroundings. Today, Cerro del Cubilete and its statue of Cristo Rey are a major tourist attraction in Guanajuato, and it is a place worth visiting to learn more about the history and culture of Mexico. The sanctuary was built in the 1950s and is an example of the modern architectural style of the time.
