There is no better way to enjoy an afternoon of your trip than to visit the Zaanse Schans windmills, an area that was the economic engine of the country between the 16th and 18th centuries, as the Dutch took advantage of the force of the wind to grind the spices they brought from their colonies, make oils, mustards, paper, cocoa...
