    Upon arriving at the community, experience a warm, traditional greeting with a fresh flower necklace welcome. This is the perfect local ritual to begin your day immersed in Yucatecan hospitality. Take part in one of the ancient culinary traditions of the Mayan world. Grind local spices on a stone metate to make the rich recado rojo seasoning paste. You will help marinate the pork, wrap it in banana leaves, and witness the cooking process in the subterranean PIB oven (underground pit with hot stones). Enjoy this world-class Cochinita Pibil lunch served with hand-pressed tortillas and fresh fruit waters. Then we meet the community's master craftsmen. You will learn the meticulous process of carving raw horn into beautiful accessories, from material shaping to final polishing. Under their expert guidance, craft your own custom bull horn souvenir to take home.
