Upon picking up the vehicle at our office, the driver participant(s) must show a valid international driving license, valid for the vehicle and valid for a minimum of 12 months at the time of pick-up of the car for the tour. We offer a free pick-up shuttle service from Keflavík International Airport or the previously selected hotel in the Keflavík area (12 hotels are selectable) between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. At the end of your tour, we also offer a free drop-off shuttle service to Keflavík International Airport or your chosen hotel within the Keflavík area (12 hotels are selectable).
We offer a complimentary shuttle service from either Keflavik international airport or a hotel accommodation from Keflavik town to CampEasy office located just 5 minutes drive from the airport. From our office, the first stop we suggest you visit the Viking World Museum. You are here transported to the past at the settlement time where you can see a life-size Viking boat stand in the facilities. The ship was built in 2000 and sailed to New York to "commemorate Leifur Eiríksson's jour to the new world a thousand years earlier "– Viking World Museum. Note that this is only our recommendation and the admission fee is not included in the tour price. If you chose to visit the museum, it will take you 1 hour and 30 minutes, including the driving time from our office.
The Bridge bewteen two continents is a physical bridge where you can “stand” above ground between the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates.
You spend some time visiting this geothermal area, which features steam vents, hot mud pools, and an incredible landscape shaped by the minerals in the ground. You see vibrant hues steaming surfaces with the Reykjanes lighthouse in the background. This is undoubtedly a place not to miss!
Reykjanesbær peninsula´s largest lake, Kleifarvatn, is also among Iceland´s deepest lakes with almost 100 meters in depth. The water comes from the porous lava ground around it and is home to many fishes, particularly anglers! The lake reflects Iceland´s beauty in its simplicity, with lava ground covered in many places by thousand years´ old moss.
Rise and shine! You start the day early by making new friends with Icelandic horses at Eldhestar, near your campsite. The horse riding „TOUR 2A - The Heritage Tour“ (at 09.00 AM) is an excellent tour for all riders to get acquainted with these beautiful creatures while taking in the countryside surroundings.
You next visit Kerid volcanic crater, which is located just a 20-minute drive away from Eldhestar. The crater is approximately 3000 years old and is covered with vivid colored grounds in the summer. The crater is a lovely site in its winter coat, particularly when its inner lake catches the sunlight on frosty days. Note that there is a small admission fee to walk up to the crater lake which is not included in the tour price.
You stop here at Urriðafoss waterfall for a while and experience the powerful Thjorsa river, Iceland´s longest river with 230 km. If you are interested, we suggest you to visit Friðheimar farm, famous for its horse breeding and horse show activities, and its tomato farm entirely run with geothermal energy using biological pest controls. Friðheimar is open for visits and has a restaurant where you can taste their tomatoes' specialties. Note that this is only our recommendation, the admission fee is not included in the tour price. If you chose to come here, it will take you 1 hour, including the driving time from Urriðafoss Waterfall.
It is time for you to experience a geothermal bath! We have selected a visit to the beautiful and seclusive Secret Lagoon at 2 PM. The latter was built in 1891 near the geyser Litli Geysir which provides the Secret Lagoon with warm waters and, to the joy of its visitors, put up a show with spouting activities every few minutes apart.
You start the Golden Circle route exploration with a visit to the Gullfoss waterfall. This impressive chute of 32 meters high falls dramatically into a deep crevasse covering the entire surrounding with water spray. It is common to see many rainbows when the droplets catch the sunlight.
You next visit is Geysir, where the geyser Strokkur shoots its warm water column up to 15 meters in the air. The geothermal area also has many fumaroles, mud pots, and openings where you can witness boiling water coming through the earth's crust. Geysir is the second point on the famous Golden Circle route that you are scheduled to visit.
Thingvellir national park is the third stop of the Golden Circle route. Last but not least, Thingvellir is not only a geological marvel where Öxara waterfall and Silfra Fissure were born out of the continental drift splitting the earth crust at various locations but it is also an important historical and political site. The park is also a UNESCO World Heritage. The park´s visit is free, however, you have to pay a Parking fee, which is not included in the tour´s price.
At noon, you go for lava cave exploration in the fjord of Borgarfjorður. Vidgelmir cave is a 1100 years old lava formation located on a 200m2 lava field right under Hallmundarhraun. You encounter many lava stalactites and stalagmites transporting you in the secret of the underworld.
You next visit two waterfalls, Hraunfoss and Barnafoss. While Hraunfoss waterfall is composed of trickling rivulets through the vegetation on a large portion of the river bed, Barnafoss or children waterfall is a powerful gust of water coming through a lava opening.

We also included some culture in the itinerary with a stop at Reykhólt in Borgarfjordur. This highly historical site from medieval times is home to Icelandic Sagas.
You stop at Deildartunguhver, Europe's largest hot spring located in Reykjadalur or the "valley of smoke. "From a safe distance, you see massive bubbles formation in the 97°C water and feel the generated heat on your face.

Stykkishólmur is a charming fishing village renowned for fresh and succulent fish dishes. Make sure to visit Sugandisey island and its lighthouse before going to your next stop. The harbor connects with the island by road, and you can walk up the mount from which the view is spectacular.
This 70 meters waterfall is among the hidden gem of the peninsula. Less visited, it offers a fantastic opportunity to experience the waterfall and take many pictures away from tourists
However, the next waterfall you see (Kirkjufellsfoss) is among Iceland's most visited and photographed ones, along with the famous mountain Kirkjufell. The latter one formed 5 to 10 million years ago, and its multi-layered tip provides a unique and majestic look.
You have next a glimpse of the raw and powerful nature of Iceland at Svortuloft. The dark and dramatic lava cliffs are battered by the Atlantic sea along a 4 km stretch. The spot is light up by a bright orange 13 meters lighthouse which create a stunning contrast with the environment. This is for sure a photo op site!
Djúpalónssandur is a black pebble beach where long ago sailors were selected right on the spot. Men´s strenght was put to the test by lifting up big rocks (23 to 155 kg) and heavy drifted wood logs and carry or throw them as far as possible. Today, we can still see the rocks and many logs on the shore together with the remain of rusty shipwreck. The site is kept untouched to truly connect with history.
At 2 PM, you explore an 8000-year-old lava tube located 32 meters under the ground! This is truly a fantastic lava formation where robust flows created an anti-chamber accessible by spiral stairs. Equipped by helmet and head-light, you descend deep under the surface.
Arnastapi is worth a small stop as the area is renowned for its beauty. The beach is fascinating because erosion carved an arch right in the stone, called Gatklettur, or simply hole in the cliff.
You continue exploring the south coast of Snæfellsnes peninsula with also a shortstop Búðir church. The latter one is among the three black churches in Iceland, making it an extremely sough spot by photographers. A little further, you find Búðir hotel. It does happen that every once and a while, seals are spotted in the sea.
You end the day with a visit to the Gerduberg cliff, partially composed of 14 meters high basalt columns. The peculiar detail about the columns is that they are geometrically symmetric. Don’t miss out on this!
You start the day with a visit at Perlan, a museum located on top of 4 water reservoir tanks. We schedule the Aurora Show at 110.00AM which delivers all secrets about norther lights.
Hallgrimskirkja church is located just a few minutes drive away from Perlan. Its architecture was inspired by basalt columns found in Icelandic nature. Should you like to have a 360° panoramic view of the whole city, we recommend going to the very top of the church. Note that the entrance to the church is free, however, you have to pay a small admission fee if you wish to walk up to the tower of the church, which is not included in the tour price.
We recommend visiting Harpa, the music and conference hall which architecture was also inspired by Icelandic nature. Note that for only visiting and not entering for a concert or other payable organized event, the building entrance is free, however, you need to pay a small parking fee which is not included in the tour price.
At 4 PM, you visit Magic Ice Reykjavik, an ice bar and museum which also exists in Norway. The concept here is simple and yet surreal: you experience art sculpture in crystal clear ice in a sub-zero atmosphere and can also enjoy drinks at the bar.
You then warm up in the Sky Lagoon geothermal spa which is scheduled at 6 PM. This allows you to wander around Reykjavik streets after Magic Ice Reykjavik and reach the spa facility in time for your Sky pass package entrance. Sky Lagoon is located right by the sea and offers an extraordinary picturesque view from the geothermal pool.
The famous Sun Voyager sculpture has been created by Jón Gunnar Árnason, who, through his piece, wanted to convey a message of hope and freedom. The statue is placed right by the sea with majestic mountains in the background. It is for sure something not to miss! Should you have time on your departure day, we recommend visiting FlyOver Iceland, where you can see Icelandic landmarks from bird view. Note that this is only our recommendation, the admission fee is not included in the tour price. The booking for this activity needs to be done by you on the supplier´s website. If you chose to come here, it will take you 1 hour and 30 mins, including the driving time from Sun Voyager.
The next stop on your way is Grótta Island Lighthouse. The cool wind and the view of the mountains along the sea are stunning. There is the perfect place to say goodbye to Iceland. If you still have some time left until your departure time, we recommend you visit one of the 25 wonders of the world, the Blue Lagoon which is also an excellent opportunity to relax before your journey back home. Note that this is only our recommendation, the admission fee is not included in the tour price. The booking for Blue Lagoon admission needs to be done by you on Blue Lagoon´s website. If you choose to come here, it will take you 2 hours and 30 minutes, including the driving time from Grótta Island Lighthouse.
