Explore Amsterdam’s Old Town with a Private Guide who is an expert on WWII history. Your walking tour will begin next to the historic Anne Frank House, where a young Jewish girl wrote her famous diary while hiding from the Nazis. You will hear a lot about the persecution of Jews during this tour, but also about the February strike, a nationwide protest against the deportations. In the heart of the Dam Square you will also see the National Monument and learn about the tragic shooting that took place in 1945, two days after German capitulation. The final stop will be at the historic Hotel Sofitel Legend The Grand, which served as a City Hall when the German troops arrived in Amsterdam on May 15th, 1940.
