Upon your arrival at Luxor Airport, our English-speaking representative will meet you to assist with all formalities and transfer you to your hotel. Begin your magical journey through Thebes, the sacred land, with a tour of Luxor's West Bank. Explore the Valley of the Kings, the royal cemetery for Theban kings and rulers of ancient Egypt, where many of the Pharaohs were laid to rest. Visit the tomb of King Tutankhamun.
Next, visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, a stunning example of ancient Egyptian architecture, uniquely carved into the mountainside. Conclude your West Bank tour with a visit to the Colossi of Memnon, the towering statues of King Amenhotep III. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch, explore Luxor's East Bank, starting with the Karnak Temple Complex, the largest religious structure ever built. The principal temple, dedicated to the god Amun-Ra, dates back to the Middle Kingdom, with references to earlier structures as old as the 3rd Dynasty.
Continue to the Luxor Temple, initially constructed by a ruler of the 12th Dynasty and later expanded by the famous King Ramses II. This temple, located at the heart of ancient Thebes, was also dedicated to the chief god Amun-Ra. At the end of your day tour, you'll be transferred to your hotel for check-in, rest, and relaxation. Enjoy an overnight stay in Luxor.
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and meet our tour guide for a full-day excursion. Begin your journey with a visit to the Temple of Edfu, one of Egypt's best-preserved cult temples, dedicated to Horus, the falcon-headed god. According to ancient Egyptian mythology, this is where Horus avenged his father Osiris's death by defeating Seth.
Next, drive to Kom Ombo to explore the unique Temple of Kom Ombo, which overlooks the Nile. This temple is distinctive for its dual design, dedicated to two gods: the falcon-headed Haroeris and the crocodile-headed Sobek. The temple honors Sobek, the god of fertility and creator of the world, as well as Haroeris, an ancient form of Horus. Kom Ombo is also notable for its significance in the sugar-cane industry. Continue your journey to Aswan, where you'll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, visit the High Dam, an engineering marvel completed in 1960 that protects Egypt from the Nile's annual floods.
Then, see the Unfinished Obelisk, which reveals the ancient Egyptians' techniques for carving obelisks. Believed to be commissioned by Queen Hatshepsut, it offers insight into the grandeur of her reign. Some scholars suggest it might also be associated with Queen Nefertiti.
Conclude your day with a visit to the Philae Temple, dedicated to Goddess Isis, the chief deity of the island. Afterward, you'll be transferred to your hotel in Aswan for check-in and overnight stay.
You'll start your day with a breakfast box from your hotel. Afterward, a private air-conditioned van will take you to Abu Simbel, an area originally known as Meha in ancient times, first recorded during the 18th Dynasty when Ay and Horemheb commissioned rock-cut chapels in the nearby hills. Upon arrival, you'll visit the magnificent Abu Simbel Temples, built by King Ramses II. The larger temple is dedicated to the god Rahorakhty, while the smaller one honors Ramses II and his beloved wife, Queen Nefertari. After completing your tour, you'll be transferred to Aswan Airport or the station for your journey back to Cairo.
