Today is the long-awaited gorilla trekking adventure! After breakfast, head to the briefing point where a ranger explains the dos and don’ts of meeting these gentle giants, answering any questions before you set off. With sturdy hiking shoes and perhaps a hired porter to carry your gear, follow your ranger deep into the jungle to where trackers have found the gorilla family. The moment you meet them is unforgettable—one magical hour in their presence, each reaction unique yet equally awe-inspiring. If energy allows after the trek, opt for a nature walk to a waterfall and visit the Batwa pygmies, the forest’s original inhabitants, who will share their traditional lifestyle and ancient skills.
