    Tsarevets is a medieval stronghold located on a hill with the same name in the city of Veliko Tarnovo in northern Bulgaria. Tsarevets served as the Second Bulgarian Empire's primary fortress and strongest bulwark between 1185 and 1393, housing the royal and the patriarchal palaces, and now probably one of the most popular tourist attractions in Bulgaria.

    Basarbovo Monastery is a Bulgarian-orthodox cave monastery near the city of Ruse in north-eastern Bulgaria. It has the same name as the nearby village of Basarbovo and lies about 35 metres above the river Rusenski Lom, south of the Danube river.
