Patmos is situated 32 miles south of Samos. Famous for its religious past, Patmos is the island where Saint John the Theologian wrote the Book of Revelation (the Apocalypse).
The highlights of the monastery include a library, historic documents, manuscripts, biographies of saints and others. The cave of the Apocalypse was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO in the year 2006.
