Sunrise Hot Air Pallone Ride. will pick you up in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle from your hotel or port. The driver may arrive around 4:30-5:00 a.m. You arrive at the launch pad overlooking the ancient temples. The crew is already busy: balloons are laid out, torches are extinguished, and baskets are placed on the sides. (You're watching.) The balloon envelope is gently unfurled and inflated. Fans pump air; then the flame is lit, heating the fabric, and the balloon rises rapidly. Just before sunrise, Balloon flight time is from 45 minutes to 1 hour. You hear the whir of the incense burner, then ascend quietly. At the top, you can see the grandeur of ancient Egyptian civilization, such as Hatshepsut's mortuary temple and the tombs of the Valley of the Kings. The journey takes 3 hours from start to finish.
