Please be aware the pickup point will be around an area of Santa Marta. If you want to get picked up from Palomino, we can arrange a transportation for an additional cost of 100 USD return or 50 USD one way. Otherwise you can take the public bus. Just let us know in time.

    Day 1

    First Stage: Start in El Mamey

    El Mamey ist the place where we will begin our walk of about 7.6 km. Halfway we will stop at the Mirador de las tres Cruces to taste delicious fruits and continue until the first accomodation, where we will spend our first night.

    Parque Nacional Natural Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta

    You will be able to see the majesty of the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta on your way. The peaks are only 45 km away from the Caribbean coast. This makes the mountain range the highest coastal mountain range in the world. During our tour we will enjoy the natural pools that the Sierra Nevada offers and in which we can take a delicious bath.

    Second Stage: Visit the Indigenous Kogui “Mutanyi” and take a bath in Rio Buritaca

    Our new day brings us another adventure. After breakfast, the tour takes us trough the beautiful Sierra Nevada and takes us to the second camp, where we can enjoy a refreshing swim in the Rio Buritaca while we wait for lunch.

    To get to Ciudad Perdida, you will cross tropical rainforest and sometimes also walls of fog. But you also walk through the valley of the Buritaca River, which flows from the Ciudad Perdida into the Caribbean Sea. Don't miss to take a refreshing bath in the Rio Buritaca.

    After a short break our adventure continues as we bordering an indigenous town of the Kogui community called "Mutanyi". Here you get in Touch with this indigenous community before to reach the second accomodation.

    Third Stage: Reach the Ciudad Perdida/Lost City "Teyuna"

    Ciudad Perdida

    Very early we have breakfast and start the 2 km ascent towards Ciudad Perdida. Climbing 1.200 steps that drive towards this majestic city of stone composed of interconnected paths, walls of containment, terraces with rings where they rested the houses of the ancient Tayronas – surrounded by a magical jungle of fauna and flora. Here we can feel the spirit of the leader and protector of mother nature and ancient empire: Tayrona.

    After our tour we will descend to “Paraíso Teyuna” to have lunch and then return to our last camp "Cabaña Wiwa" where we will spend the night. On the war you will be able to see the majesty of the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta. The peaks are only 45 km away from the Caribbean coast. This makes the mountain range the highest coastal mountain range in the world.

    Stage Four: Go down the Sierra Nevada

    Our adventure in the Sierra Nevada is about to end. After breakfast, we will go hiking about 2 hours to where we slept the first night. Once in the first camp, we will take a quick fruit and water break. Then we continue for another 4 hours all the way back to the Mamey, where we will have lunch and get on board of a Car that will bring you back to Palomino.
