    Forested nature trail to very rare example of a Lyme Kiln. The Gunpowder Magazine - One of the most beautiful Bermuda stone vaulted ceilings inside, it looks like it did in the 1820s. Martello Tower - Built of Bermuda stone in 1820, the design was inspired by the fortress at Martello Point, Corsica. Burnt Point Fort - Built in 1688 to defend the western approach to St. George's Harbour and prevent illegal sea trading by Bermudian sailors. Ferry Island Fort - the ferry was the only connection between St. George's and the rest of Bermuda prior to the construction of the Causeway bridge.
