Al Jumail is an abandoned village inhabited by Alkubaisi tribe in north-east Qatar located in the municipality of Al Shamal. Several settlements in the northwest of Qatar give a glimpse of how difficult life outside of the main cities was before the discovery of oil. These small villages had economies based largely on fishery, and lacked facilities or road access.

A village in north-western Qatar near Dukhan and about 80 km (50 mi) north-west west of Doha. Originally a sparsely populated area, Zekreet was built up in the 1940s after oil operations commenced in Qatar. There are a number of visitor attractions and old ruins at the site, one of the most notable being Zekreet Fort, which is housed to the immediate north of the village.
Internationally acclaimed artist Richard Serra adds the astonishing East-West/West-East sculpture to the desert landscape, taking art to the people.
