This is a true end-to-end hiking journey through Jordan, not a sightseeing tour with short walks. You hike continuously through the country’s most iconic landscapes—Dana, Petra (via the Back Door), Wadi Rum, and Jordan’s highest peak—with no rushed days or filler stops.

This tour is ideal for travelers who want to experience Jordan on foot, beyond the standard routes, with comfort, safety, and local knowledge throughout.
Travelers are met in Amman at their hotel, or a pre-arranged central meeting point. Your guide will provide a brief tour overview before departing south toward Jordan’s hiking regions.
Arrive to Queen Alia International Airport. An optional airport transfer can be arranged from QAIA onto Amman (Supplements apply). Overnight in Amman.
The guide will meet you at 8 am with a transfer south to Dana Nature Reserve so to start hiking Shaq Al Reesh trail or similar. This circular trail traverses from Al-Barrah, through a breathtaking siq, and to Shaq al Reesh. Stats: 11-12 km, +350m, -400m, ~5 hours Transfer time from Amman to Dana: approx. 2:45hrs (205km) Transfer time from Dana to Little Petra: approx. 1 hr (52km) Overnight in Little Petra.
After breakfast it’s time to start your hike. Enter Petra via The Back Door avoiding most of the tourists. Good tracks go pleasantly down Wadi Ghurab amidst sandstone mountains guarding the approaches to Petra. This way follows a Nabataean route out of the valley and skirting round the final mountain on a natural rock terrace which has been improved for the safety of walkers. Even so, it still narrows slightly before reaching a hidden plateau high above the impressive chasm of Wadi Siyyagh. Just beyond, carved into the cliff face, The Monastery suddenly comes into view, where there is a Bedouin coffee shop for refreshments if you would like. Nabataean steps then lead down into ancient Petra; through which the route goes before exiting past The Treasury and though the famous Petra Siq to the shops, diners and hotels of Wadi Musa. Stats: 15-16 km, +450m, -500m, ~7 hours (Depending on the time spent inside the site of Petra) Overnight in Petra.
After breakfast, you will leave your hotel and head to the Petra visitors center,enter the city through 1KM long narrow gorge which is flanked either side by 80m high cliffs! Notice the dazzling colors and formations of the rocks. The site is massive, and contains hundreds of elaborated rock-cut tombs, a treasury, Roman-style theatres, temples, sacrificial altars. You will cross the colonnaded street to Wadi Farasa passing many sites including the Renaissance Tomb, the Soldier Tomb, and climb up to Jabal al-Madhbah (the High Place of sacrifice) with sweeping views of the Royal Tombs. From there we head on the Madras Trail tucked int the hills south of the Siq arriving near the Obelisk Tomb. Stats: 12-13 km, +100m, -100m, ~6 hours Overnight in Petra.
After breakfast take a transfer to Wadi Rum to spend a full day there. You’ll start your desert adventure with a jeep safari exploring this World Heritage Site, traveling around Wadi Rums valleys, canyons, dunes and deserts, discover rock inscriptions, majestic views of mountains and landscapes and narrow gorges. At each stop you have the opportunity to hike and scramble and explore in your own time. After a jeep tour, you’ll have a trek in the desert. Trail passes through multiple canyons, takes you to Um Frouth rock Arch and then to our camp. Stats: 10-11 km, +250m, -300m, ~4 hours Overnight – Wadi Rum.
After breakfast you will drive for around 1 hour to the foot of the mountain. Um Ad Dami, at more than 1,800 metres is the highest peak in Jordan, offering you a whole new perspective of the desert from its summit. To the South you can see the border to Saudi Arabia, to the North Jebel Rum (next to Rum village). Climbing to the summit and back to the desert floor. On your way back; after you finish your hike to Um Ad Dami; you will continue to Wadi Nuqra to have a short hike until you reach the viewpoint. Desert cooked lunch will be served. After which you will be transferred to your camp in Wadi Rum so as to relax. Free time in the evening at camp. Stats: 2-3 km, +400m, -400m, ~3 hours Overnight in Wadi Rum.
Depart from Wadi Rum to the Dead Sea to enjoy the rest of your day relaxing, floating in the salt waters, or resting by the pool. You can always pamper yourself with your chosen spa treatment! Then transfer to Amman. Transfer from Wadi Rum onto the Dead Sea takes around 4 Hours Dead sea visit 4-5 hours Transfer from the Dead Sea onto Amman takes around 1 Hour Overnight in Amman.
