The Kallergi mountain shelter is the point from where you can have a stunning 360 degree view of both the North and South Cretan Sea and a panoramic view of the Lefka Ori mountains at the same time as you stand 1630 meters above the famous Samaria Gorge. This private hike to Kallergi is the perfect way to get close to Cretan nature, while having a unique experience to enjoy a memorable view of the island's mountainous landscape!

What to expect
Arriving by road to the plateau of Omalos and from there we will start a smooth hike to Kallergi shelter. On this route we will have views of some of the famous peaks of the area. Arriving at the Kallergi shelter, we will find ourselves in a unique spot from where we can see both seas of the island (North and South Cretan Sea) at the same time, while a panorama of the peaks of the White Mountains unfolds before our eyes.
The most impressive thing is that we are on a "balcony" just above the famous Samaria gorge and at a point where one can admire the gorge from above almost all its length. This excursion takes you to a unique spot with views you won't find elsewhere and at the same time it is a hike that the whole family can participate in. The friendly and welcoming Kallergi is the perfect place for a cup of mountain tea or soup in front of these views before you start the hike back.
