We'll be waiting for you just outside the pier with a sign showing our DOS OCEANOS AGENCY logo and your name. You can either take a pleasant 5 to 10 minute walk or use the free shuttle bus to get to us. Please be on time and disembark the cruise as soon as you can to avoid any issue.
Begin your experience of exploring Península Valdés as soon as your cruise ship docks in Puerto Madryn. Meet us and board a comfortable-modern vehicle. Enjoy a brief tour of the city to learn about its history while heading to the reserve.
Start the adventure accompanied by a tour guide who will help us interpret the environment. Keep an aye out, the reserve enclose unique species such as Guanacos (Lamas), Patagonia Rabbit, Lesser Rhea, Grey Wolf, among others.
Drive to the inmense Peninsula, attached to the continente by a strip of land known as Ameghino Isthmus. At some points you will se the two gulf Nuevo and San José simultaneously and get views of the typical Patagonian landscape. Make your first stop at the Carlos Ameghino Isthmus Visitor Center, where you will see the small exhibit of local flora and fauna.
Continue to Caleta Valdes along a barren gravel road to marvel at the Magellanic Penguins colony. This inlet’s exceptional value is due to its biodiversity. Keep an eye out for Orcas, if you are lucky you sight spot them patrolling these coasts in pods. Next stop, Punta Cantor. Here, the trails and viewpoints allow you to be amazed by colonies of elephant seals and sea lions.
As we travel along the gravel roads, the safari continues overland. Be sure to scan the horizon; among the bushes, you might sight guanacos, choiques, and maras crossing the Patagonian steppe.
Returning, you will be taken to Punta Piramide to watch a sea lion colony from the top of the cliffs. Thanks to the location, you will admire one of the most beautiful landscapes of the area. After a day full of nature in its purest form, return to Puerto Madryn and get dropped off outside the pier on time.
